Hey there!
I am so happy you made it to Experience Irish. A very warm welcome! I am actually born and raised in Germany but fell in love with Ireland when I moved there for work.
Only, when I had already moved to Ireland, I remembered a story I had listened to as a child: “Die roten Hosenträger” (the red braces). I remember as a child that this story was about rainbows, pot of gold, mystical smart gnome who made fun of the human who wanted to steal the pot of gold called “Patrick”. I loved the fiddle music and I thought as a kid: Does a place like this exist? If yes, I would really like to go!
… and many many moons later, when I walked the streets of Dublin, and I listened to the street musicians playing the fiddle, I knew I had finally arrived.
Fast forward, after 6 years I moved and left this country that I called my home with a heavy heart. This blog is an homage do this amazing place, amazing people, and how some call it: The emerald island.
To me it will always be the country of the many rainbows.
I will share with you my top-tips on how to get around in Ireland, what to look out for and hope one or the other insights will inspire you to give this beautiful place a visit.
One secret already: It does NOT rain all the time. Unless you go to Donegal ;). It IS however, very windy very often.
